The beauty of artistic storytelling
Blackburd is a British women's-owned clothing brand established in London, 2018. The brand is dedicated to refining sleek and elegant styles built on sustainable systems for the multifaceted city person and creating a symbiotic relationship between minimalist smart-casual and vibrant extravagance in our designs.
The concept of Blackburd originated in 2017 with the intention of creating premium vegan outwear to confront the problem of animal cruelty and it's possible alternatives, our primary aim was to produce high quality outwear made of faux animal materials such as sued and leather. Overtime, we evolved into creating sophisticated clothing with sustainability at the core iof our brand. In 2020, we shifted our focus from solely utilising faux animal materials, to producing entire ethical collections crafted from organic snd recycled fabrics sourced in England, Spain and Ghana.
At the heart of the brand is a philosophy, the beauty of artistic storytelling and the inherent luxury of choice.
Our brand was created with the world in mind, environmentally and socially, our idea of fashion is based on Art, Adventure and Freedom. We shoot all of our campaigns in different cities and countries, experimenting with different themes and faces with every collection. The incorporation of variety and integration is essential to the soul of Blackburd.

Where are your clothes designed?
How do you practice recycling?
Adopting a holistic approach to sustainability is necessary to tackle the environmental and social issues confronting the fashion industry today, which is why we are dedicated to integrating circular systems into our production and waste management practices. Apart from utilising recycled fabrics in our clothes, we create comfortable and versatile designs directly reprocessed from our unsold stock to encourage minimal waste.
Where are your products made?
Over the years we have worked with different small-scale factories to produce low quantities and increase based on popular demand. Our first two collections were made in factories in Singapore and China, then in 2020, we moved our production to England where we have stayed till this day. We additionally added a specialised luxury Atelier based in Ghana to our production process, which increased the use of fabric experimentation, product expansion and natural naturals yet bright materials to merge into our collections.
How do Pre-Orders work?
Ordering a pre-order item ensures that you secure that in-demand item in your size, style and colour before it's gone.
Pre-orders are only eligible for standard shipping, both within and outside of the United Kingdom. Pre-orders are shipped within 2 working days from our warehouse, you will receive updates on your order status including order confirmation, change in expected ship date (if necessary) and shipping confirmation to the email address associated with the order, once an order has been placed, we cannot make any changes to the order or payment. Do I need to pay any customs fees?
Blackburd fully covers the applicable customs duties if your order is being delivered to the UK, EU and Switzerland.
Please note that your order might be subject to additional duties if shipped to countries outside of the three locations mentioned above.
